A special series for individualists

Johanna Gullichsen’s Nereus fabric was the favourite in a public vote organised by Tapio Anttila. Tapio Anttila’s ON2Wood sofa-bed is now available with Nereus covers. Introducing the Nereus as a removable cover option makes it perfect for individual style preferences. These covers can be ordered from Tapio Anttila’s online store. The sofa will be displayed at Johanna Gullichsen’s Lasipalatsi store from the end of August until the end of September 2025.

This collaboration came about seamlessly. “Johanna and I have known each other for a long time. We have frequently discussed the possibility of working together, and it has finally happened! The ON2 sofa bed and the Nereus fabric share a sense of timelessness, so it was no surprise that they complemented each other so well,” says Tapio Anttila about the project’s inception, which now features the ON2Wood sofa-bed with Nereus covers.

The covers include two backrest cushion covers and two armrest cushion covers. “You can change the covers according to the season, occasion, or mood—a small change can make a surprising difference,” interior designer Arja Anttila suggests.

Timeless Design

The ON2 sofa bed is both lightweight and practical. This makes it a perfect solution for the guest bed needs of many households. In production since 2007, the sofa’s longevity is a testament to its timeless design that endures wear and tear. The ON2 Wood sofa bed is crafted to support everyday life and adapt to various living situations. With Nereus covers now part of its offering, Tapio Anttila’s ON2Wood sofa-bed adds style to its practicality. By day, it is a comfortable and stylish sofa. By night, it is easily transformed into a spacious double bed (160 x 200 cm) or two separate beds (2 x 80 x 200 cm).

“In the mid-2000s, there was a notable gap in the market. All existing sofa beds featured heavy mechanisms, which made them uncomfortable to sit on or sleep in. They were typically designed as double beds. However, guests are not always couples, so when temporary sleeping arrangements were needed, awkward situations often arose. I aimed to address this problem through design,”  Tapio Anttila describes, highlighting how the ON2Wood sofa-bed is now available with Nereus covers.
